If you can dream it, I can plan it.

Do You Have a Fear of Flying?

Überlingen mid-air collision - Air Crash Investigation

Everyone has their own personal feelings about flying.

We’ve all heard the statistics that flying is safer than driving. Though many choose to not to trust the “myth,” it is actually true! According to Hazmat, each year in the U.S. 1 out of 6800 drivers dies in an auto accident. The rate for airline passengers is 1 in 1.6 million.

So what’s the fuss?

Personally, I don’t mind flying.  I mean I don’t LOVE it, but I don’t panic or stress-out like some. This is mainly due to a technique I call “falling asleep.” Yup, I always manage to pass-out just before take-off!

The joke is, I usually tell the person sitting next to me to give a good nudge when the snack & beverage cart comes around, lol.

Ironically, flying became easier for me after I watched this movie about the true story of 2 planes that crossed each other’s paths and crashed mid-air.

It described all of the things that went wrong including equipment failure, chance happenings and human error. I became more educated in what actually takes place behind the scenes and what happens while we are above the clouds. The full length film goes on to explain the improvements the airline industry has adopted since that horrible day.
