Toronto! You can now visit The County this summer, without a car!
It has been over a 30+ year period that I’ve seen this sleepy summer beach town turn into a tourism powerhouse and I’m thrilled to share with my Toronto peeps that you can now visit Prince Edward County (aka ‘The County’ or ‘PEC’) this summer, without a car!

As of June 8, 2026, FlixBus has launched a seasonal service connecting Toronto directly to Prince Edward County, making spontaneous summer day trips and easy weekend escapes more accessible than ever.
For years, one of the biggest barriers to visiting PEC has been transportation. Not everyone wants to battle Highway 401 traffic for a quick getaway, and now you don’t have to.

Here’s what you need to know:

📅 Service dates: June 8 to September 13, 2026
🗓️ Operating days: Thursday through Monday
📍 Prince Edward County stops:
• Wellington United Church
• Bloomfield Emmanuel Baptist Church
• 106 Picton Main St. (across from Rexall Plaza)
💰 One-way fares generally range from $21 to $45 CAD depending on demand and booking timing
Tickets are available through flixbus.ca and the FlixBus app.

If you’ve been thinking about visiting The County, this is your sign.

And once you arrive, you’re not stuck…
LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
County Transit makes it possible to explore the region without your own vehicle. Weekday service connects Picton, Bloomfield, and Belleville.

Additional service to Wellington runs Friday evenings, throughout Saturday, and Sunday mornings. Heading to a concert? Saturday evening service also connects to Base31’s Drill Hall series.
You will want to be close to the local bus stops but in some cases, you can also stay closer to the experience you want.
Wine lovers should consider staying at a vineyard property like Huff Estates, where you can pair wine tasting with a visit to Oeno gallery.
If your ideal County escape includes farm-to-table dining and spa time, check out The Wilfrid.

PLAN YOUR VISIT
Whether you want to visit for a weekend or settle in for a full week, let’s build a County itinerary around not driving.
Think winery tours with transportation included, self-guided walking tours, bike rentals, beach days, local food stops, galleries, pickleball at Base31, or slow afternoons wandering village main streets.
As someone who has been coming here for decades, I love seeing The County become more accessible while still holding onto the charm that keeps people returning year after year.
So whether you’ve been before or have been dreaming of your first visit, this summer might be the perfect time to (re)discover Prince Edward County without wheels!
