Everything super-producer and artist Pharrell Williams touches turns to platinum and The Goodtime Hotel in South Beach, Miami is another hit!
Pharrell and nightlife entrepreneur Dave Grutman (Miami’s LIV, Papi Steak, Story, Komodo, etc) opened their first hotel in April 2021. It is beautifully styled and conveniently located, so it is no surprise that they recently announced that they are working on a second property!
“Somewhere Else Resort” will be part of Atlantis Paradise Island and is expected to open in January 2024, consisting of 400 rooms and suites, multiple restaurants and bars, and bungalows with recording studios.
The hotel will have a more contemporary feel, described as “tropical modernism” with cascading pools and polychrome room concepts. It will be anchored by a flamingo pink-trimmed building, previously known as The Beach, which will undergo a head-to-toe redo.
“Often, when talking about tropical aesthetics, there’s this harkening back to another time,” said Pharrell Williams in a statement “It’s like, ‘man, let’s let that time be.’ We’re going for the future here.”
New York-based architecture firm Rockwell Group will spearhead the design, headed by Shawn Sullivan.
“We’re so thrilled to be designing an enthralling oasis with over 400 guestrooms and suites alongside an array of vibrant, top-tier dining venues, lushly landscaped grounds, an oceanfront beach, multiple pools, and recreation areas, luxury amenities, and live entertainment,” Sullivan stated on Instagram. “We’re excited to let nature pervade the space.”
I love visiting The Bahamas (I have been 3 times) and look forward to staying at Somewhere Else when it opens! In the meantime, if you want to stay at The Goodtime Hotel in South Beach, let’s set up a call and let me see what I can put together for you!
