The BOULDERS Resort & Spa
-The Waldorf Astoria Collection- Set in the Sonoran desert – this resort is located just outside of Scottsdale in Carefree, Arizona.I don’t know if it was the gorgeous dry warm air or the fact that I had FINALLY made it (long story) but I fell in love with the Adobe inspired room (called ‘Casitas’) as soon as we arrived. It had a fireplace, a walk in closet and a large porch with lounge chairs just outside of our ground floor room.
The wedding we were attending took place outdoors on the golf greens (bride and groom said their nuptials on top of a boulder not too far from us) as the sun set and then we all moved to the reception which was held in The Boulders’ “Latilla” room. The day was perfect. Well, maybe it was a little too hot (105+ degrees) for my Canadian skin. Regardless, the flowers, landscape, strings that played, layout lead to an evening that was nothing short of spectacular!
This resort is famous for its golf, so naturally the greens were perfectly groomed and cared for.
The pool area was also relaxing and beautiful with the boulders/waterfalls in the background. Nothing beats laying down in the sun while charging popsicles & margaritas to your room!

I was fortunate and had the occasion to return to The Boulders Resort. It was a completely different experience. Read about it HERE.
