The BOULDERS Resort & Spa

Set in the Sonoran desert – this resort is located just outside of Scottsdale in Carefree, Arizona.

I had FINALLY made it to the resort (long travel story) and instantly felt at home and in love with the Adobe inspired room (called ‘Casitas’) as soon as we arrived.  The ground-floor room had a fireplace, a walk in closet and a large terrace with lounge chairs.

We were staying here as one of my oldest and dearest friends Sarah was getting married and luckily for us had selected this property.

The wedding ceremony took place outdoors on the golf greens – fittingly, bride and groom said their nuptials on top of a boulder as the sun set and the temperature finally cooled off (100 degrees out in desert sun!).  We all moved to the reception space which was held in The Boulders‘ “Latilla” room.  The day was perfect.  The property backdrop, the flowers, the musical strings, etc I mean it really was nothing short of fabulous!

This resort is famous for its golf, so naturally the greens were perfectly groomed and cared for.

The pool area was also relaxing and beautiful with the boulders/waterfalls in the background.  Nothing beats laying down in the sun while charging popsicles & margaritas to your room!

If you are looking for a perfect golf oasis in the desert, I highly recommend The Boulders Resort & Spa.  Perfect for weddings, romantic stays, golf, and meetings.  Speaking of which, I was fortunate to return to The Boulders Resort & Spa a couple years later for another experience.  Read about it HERE.
