It was an early Saturday afternoon and I was in NYC for a baby shower, but of course I was also trying to fit a million things into my 2-day trip. One of the things on my (long) list was purchasing a new fragrance. Particularly, I was searching for a perfume in a travel set, so I would not have to check my bag on my flight back home.
I wanted something bold, yet pretty.

A friend of mine introduced me to Kilian (Liaisons Dangereuse) a couple years ago and it always struck me as a very luxurious scent. I soon learned that Kilian was in fact Kilian Hennessy, heir to a long line of cognac makers that were and are pioneers in luxury. Being the grandson of the founder of the LVMH Group, the luxury aspect of the brand was apparent, and I guess inherent.
I called the New York City boutique (there are only 2 in the world; NYC and Moscow*) and within 45 mins I found myself in the Meatpacking District at the corner of Horatio & Washington streets, looking at this gorgeous space.

You see, I love an experience, and right away I knew, from the Kilian associates welcoming greeting, that this would be it. I felt like I had stepped into a beautiful living room, filled with beautiful pieces of art on display. Bottles of perfume hung from swing sets and scents were on display as if I were in a jewelry boutique shopping for precious stones.

The beautiful and knowledgeable associate, Kimberly (@reminiscent30), greeted me and brought me through an array of different scents and showed me an exclusive product to the boutique called Apple Brandy and Vodka on the Rocks. She then led me over to their latest collection of jewelry, stunning pieces that had special perfume infusers that release an intoxicating scent with your every move. Definitely a very interesting and clever way to wear Kilian!

Until one decides to invest in one of their stunning pieces of jewelry, the travel kit really is the best way to go when it comes to purchasing Kilian perfume. Not only do you not have to worry about checking it into your luggage, but you can easily carry it with you in your purse every day. The travel kit comes with four refills, including and infuser, which looks like a beautiful oversized lipstick case.
